Pavel Malikov and Stanislav Kalitskiy meets at RCC Boxing Promotions tournament
Russia’s Pavel Malikov (16-3-1) and Stanislav Kalitskiy from Kazakhstan will face for a ranking Super Featherweight bout on March 27.
Malikov is the EBP champion and one of the best Russians in his division. He had been unbeaten for seven years until he faced the IBO champion Indonesian’s Daud Yordan. However, that defeat did not break boxer’s spirit, he instantly closed that one and successfully defended the belt of the Eurasian Parliament two times. Last year was untoward for Malikov so he lost twice in Yekaterinburg; to the former contender for the WBC World Zaur Abdullaev in tough bout at first and then to unbeaten Roman Andreev.
Malikov looks like a conjectural favourite, he has more title bouts in his career, more significant rivals. In addition, Kalitskiy suffered a defeat at the last bout against Russian prospect Dmitrii Khasiev. However, Kalitskiy is younger and hungry for conquest. He got a confident victory over the champion of South America (he has held the belt since 2017 to 2020) Alan Castillo and told about his ambitions regarding the world boxing.
Malikov vs. Kalitskiy is part of a night of action on March 27, at the RCC Martial Arts Academy Cruiserweight Olympic champion Evgeny Tishchenko meets in WBC eliminatory bout against Thabiso Mchunu in the main event, Tatyana Zrazhevskaya squares off with Estrella Valverde for the WBC Interim World Female Bantamweight Title.
The tournament starts at 14:00 (GMT +3). Tickets are on sale via online platforms.
