Evgeny Chuprakov and Mark Urvanov will fight at the RCC Boxing Promotions tournament
Russian boxers Evgeny Chuprakov (21-1) and Mark Urvanov (16-2-1) will meet in the ring at the RCC Boxing Promotions tournament, which will take place on November 2 in Yekaterinburg.
Both boxers are among the top 5 strongest boxers in Russia in the category of up to 59 kg and fought many times in the same tournaments, but for the first time will face each other.
Chuprakov’s record includes one defeat - in December last year, he lost to Japanese Masayuki Ito in the fight for the WBO world title. Since then, however, he had one recovery fight against Venezuelan Alexander Munoz and won the ninth round. After that, Chuprakov had to meet with Nikita Kuznetsov, but withdrew for health reasons.
Mark Urvanov comes to the tournament with a series of four wins and one draw. Despite the proximity in the Russian ranking, boxers share 73 positions in the world. So the fight with Chuprakov will be a real challenge for him. It should be noted that at different times Urvanov had the titles of WBC Asian, WBC Eurasia, WBO Asia and was the Russian champion.
In addition to Chuprakov and Urvanov, the tournament will feature Olympic champion Evgeny Tishchenko (5-0) and former WBA world champion Magomed Kurbanov.
The full card of the tournament will be announced soon.
